Who is the Maiden bride?
The Maiden Bride appreciates quality, wanting to place emphasis on customizing their day and recognising this as a special moment in time.
How far in advance should a bride make an appointment?
Choosing a dress for your wedding is a big deal, we get it.
You’re welcome to come into the studio and peruse the gowns and try on anything you like at any time – just book an appointment. Try give yourself as much time as you can so you don’t feel pressured into a decision and have plenty of time to consider all your options.
Our Made to measure styles will be made in our Auckland studio with an 8 week lead time
For custom dresses 6-8 months is preferred but we can turn around a dress in 4 weeks if we need to, let us know your time lines, we are here to help.
What does an appointment typically look like with you?
First, book a consultation with our designer. We will go over your design inspirations and key elements of the dress you have in mind. Talk needs and wants and try on any dresses from the range to give you an idea of what silhouette you like and suits your shape. We can then go over fabric options.
Our designer will create several design options for your consideration. We’ll work collaboratively to find a design that resonates with you, then proceed to select a suitable fabric. Once the design and fabric are confirmed, we’ll proceed with securing your order through a deposit.
The initial toile will focus on refining the silhouette as well as addressing key fit elements such as neckline and length.
Next it’s time to try on your partially constructed gown. We will adjust fit, make necessary adjustments and refine the silhouette.
During the final fitting, we meticulously refine details such as embellishments or trims, and perfect the hem once you have your shoes. We will be closely assessing and ensuring the perfect fit and finalizing any details. Next it is time to collect your unique dress, fitted perfectly to you. Made by us, Inspired by you.
Any tips for brides to be searching for the perfect gown?
Honestly as a first step, go and try on some gowns. This will help you get a feel for what silhouette and shape you like, what suits you and will tie in with your style of wedding. Take note of the little details and elements that you love and DO NOT SETTLE for ‘it’s fine’. You should LOVE your gown and feel insanely excited to wear it. Our job is to make that happen for you, so if you don’t find it, get one made.
What is your most popular gown to date? Do you have a favourite?
Mostly brides will choose a variation of the gowns in our range to make it their own. Our Thea gown is having such a big moment, with brides choosing to swap out the sequin detailing with a beautiful silk draped ruching detail. Lately we have been seeing less embellishment with beautifully draped silk showing off the finer details, but hooray the full lace or sequin look is making it’s way in to the sophisticated bridal look.
Besides gowns, what else can we find in store?
We carry a good range of veils. These are all made to order so can be made specifically to your needs.
Our range for 2024/2025 will also extend to bridal separates and mini dresses and some perfectly matched tailored blazers for the cooler wee hours.
