A whirlwind Summer romance for Jake + Kai, led to a move across the globe to chase love and soon to be forevers. It was golden skies and their favourite beach where Jake surprised Kai on one knee during a photoshoot with photographer Eilish Burt. Capturing all of the emotions of this intimate engagement on the sandy shores of Papamoa Beach.

Tell us a little bit about yourselves, and how long have you been together?
We have been together for about four and a half years, I (Kai) am a support worker and Jake is a videographer.
The love story: (how did you meet?)
The beginning of our love story is a funny one – we actually met on tinder. Although we had met about three years prior through mutual friends. On our first date Jake told me he was moving to New Zealand in five weeks, indefinitely. I thought it was just going to be a summer fling. The following weeks were a whirlwind of emotions, in two short weeks we had already created an incredible bond. Which led me to follow Jake to New Zealand.
How did you choose your shoot location?
Choosing the location was a no brainer for me (Jake) I wanted to take it back to where the love started, we lived directly behind this beach during our summer stay in NZ.
Style and vibe of the shoot?
The shoot style was directed by Eilish, outside of this it was organic and simple.
What does love mean to you?
Love means having your best friend around 24/7, having someone to do all the highs and lows of life, growing together and creating a wonderful life together.
