Time stands still in the golden hour with this week’s wild love story. Ses and Nate’s date night at dusk turned into a romantic roadside photoshoot as twilight loomed. The tranquil low light created the perfect backroad shoot captured by Ses from Ses & Jen, really highlighting that you don’t need and end destination to showcase love’s continual journey. We adore their sense of relaxed adventure and backroad heartthrob style – a guitar, blooms handpicked en route, and a pair of tan boots.
Nostalgic hues and an open road with off the cuff, raw love; it’s been a wild and dreamy ride for these two lovers since they met. For more romance on the road and a peak into Ses and Nate’s wild love story, keep reading below…
I’m Ses an Auckland lifestyle Photographer and my Partner Nate, is a digital marketer and passionate guitarist. Our love story started the way many do – by both of us swiping right… turns out we were living only 5 minutes drive away from each other. Both having daughters when we met, it was like meeting the male and female versions of each other – we are so similar in many ways and its pretty awesome doing life with my best friend by my side. Both being creatives really helps as we get passionate bout creating new things – Nate’s also quite the pro behind the lens and doesn’t give me too much grief over the location scouting trips which turn into impromptu shoots, bonus! Nate is a pretty passionate guitarist so our house is always filled with music and evening jams, its one of our favourite things to do; guitar sessions, dancing, red wine and chocolate..
Sam Hunt’s ‘body like a back road’ is one of our favourites to play and that gave me the idea for a backroad shoot. A guitarist and his roadie..
I’ve had these tan ‘Coachella’ boots for over a decade and thought they would be perfect with my much loved spell dress to channel that Route 66 vibe. Add in some roadside blooms and a backpack, and rock n roll all black for Nate, his guitar and we were ready to go.
Hahaha I’ll tell ya…. finding double yellow lines in New Zealand is tricky as its usually on dangerous stretches of road! we finally found the spot just before the sun ducked down!date night / dusk shoots are going to be new thing.
Love is the feeling of home, your sanctuary where you can truly be your best self, having someone who you don’t have say anything to and they just know what you need. Its also having some you’re crazy stupid obsessed with.
