We spoke with Liv about her love for the wedding industry and her favourite recommendations for couples and their beauty routine, beauty must-haves and turning dreams into reality.

Tell us about your business and your involvement in the wedding industry…

Since moving to Queenstown my involvement in the Wedding industry has blossomed.

When I started doing hair and Makeup I never thought I’d be doing weddings full time. But here We are and I absolutely LOVE it.

To a lot of people, weddings are one of the most important days of their life, and to be a part of that is always such an honour. I still talk to a lot of my brides from over the years and I truly value their friendship.

How did your journey in makeup start and what have been some highlights for you?

I knew from day dot that I wanted to pursue a career in makeup! I had two dreams, one to work in film and the other to have my work in magazines and billboards. So I set my course and followed it.

Some highlights for me… hmmm i’d have to say going to Vanuatu with Remix Magazine for a photoshoot, having work featured in British Vogue, working on two multi million dollar films, and meeting so many extraordinary people over the years!

What are your favourite trends in makeup at the moment and what can you see in store for this wedding season?

Fresh Glowy bronzed skin, and either a bronze smokey eye or a sexy cat eye for sure! The current trend is “clean makeup” And I am so here for it. It’s all about looking and feeling your absolute best self and that’s been my goal for my clients since day dot.

Do many brides have colourful makeup looks? If so what are some of your favourites?

I am currently still obsessing over a makeup I got to do a few weeks ago. The Bride sent me one of my editorial instagram pictures for inspo. She had a beautiful deep red lip, with cool tone browns for the eyes. And to top it off she had a beautiful finger wave hairstyle with pearls on her fringe. Oh and I should probably mention her dress was GOLD! Safe to say I cannot wait to see the photos.

Can you tell us your secrets for providing a great base on your skin during a summer wedding? Do you recommend any SPFs?

SPF is an absolute MUST on these summer days. My go to Spf is The Mecca save face sunscreen. It sits so beautifully under Makeup, also the Coola setting spray as it is spf30. Makeup meltdowns and UV exposure have met their match with these two products.

What are your favourite products for bridal makeup?

Giving away my secrets here!

My absolute go to’s are Glow Recipe Watermelon dew drops, Charlotte Tilbury Flawless filter, Nars Light reflecting foundation, Also the Tartelette in bloom palette for eyes.

What can grooms do for their skin prior to their wedding and on the day?

Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise! Also the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lip Balm. It is the perfect Male lip balm because it is matte. Got to have kissable lips boys!

How can brides book in with you?

If you are interested the best way to book with me is to go through my website contact form! That way I can send you a questionnaire and gather all your information in one place and we can create a seamless plan for your special day!

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, I’m always happy to travel.

Finally, whats next for your business?

Always looking at ways to move forward! Eventually I would like to open up a small studio for lessons, Trials and special occasions. Watch this space.
