A hazy, lusty saffron light fell on the hills of Kelvin Heights during this styled shoot captured by Kate Craig-Brown. A mirage in the medallion fields, Lis and Sam, two local lovers, radiated backcountry elegance in the parched landscape.

Basking in a balmy, breezy afternoon, the couple hired a few stand out pieces (Lis’ gown and Sam’s jacket), to integrate with their own, much loved Timberlands and jeans. A touch of glamour was injected through the details; obsidian velvet, a classic bow tie, and long lines of crepe covered buttons trailing Lis’ back and wrists. A small garland of ivory florals adorned Lis’ dark, soft curls – the perfect hint of bridal headwear in the lofty tussocks.

Relaxed, comfortable and utterly themselves, we love the way existing and borrowed pieces were mixed to achieve a considered and thrifty approach to fashion, allowing love to roam freely across the countryside.
