WILD ROMANTICS – A Real love story by Flora & Foto
This wild love story is more than just an insanely beautiful styled shoot, the gorgeous girls from Flora & Foto put this together for the couple after hearing they did not receive any images on their actual Wedding Day.
A dreamy setting in a field of wild grass, with a backdrop full of florals in romantic pastel hues, creating memories to now keep forever. All created, styled and also captured by Hannah and Katie of Flora & Foto. along with handpainted signage by Paper Darling, and a romantic lace gown by Mille Feuille Bridal.
We loved this shoot so much we just had to get to know the beautiful couple Cas & Ben, their wild love story and what marriage means to them. Check out all of the lovely details below.
| CAS & BEN |
How did you meet?
We first met at Primary school, and then flitted in and out of each other’s lives until we stayed at the same hostel when we went to uni.
How would you describe each other?
I’d say Ben is like a big Kauri tree- he is so strong, constant and dependable throughout this crazy storm of life. He’s got a big heart and a big taste for adventure! He’s the most loyal, loving person I know and I feel so blessed to have him in my life!
Cas is an amazing person. She has an enormous heart for others, and loves to do things to make others feel special. If I had to sum Cas up in three words it would be courageous, selfless and loving. I love how she makes me feel special just for being me, and her stunning smile lights up my soul.
Tell us a little bit about the proposal and your engagement?
Ben proposed on the top of Mt Manaia. He had carried up wine and strawberries too, but it was a bleak day and started pouring with rain! It was all a bit of a blur, but we walked down the mountain drenched and happy!
What was your favourite detail from the shoot?
Coming around the corner and seeing that beautiful floral arch was pretty breathtaking! Everything was so well thought out, from the colours to our quote. Katie and Hannah did an amazing job- we felt relaxed and free to be ourselves, and had a few good laughs in the process.
Favourite moment / memory together?
We were early on our way to visit friends for dinner, so decided to pass the time at a beach. No one was around and it was freezing, but we decided to go swimming anyway- next minute a whole pod of dolphins turned up in a playful mood, and we ended up spending ages swimming with them. It was a pretty special experience, feeling alone but together in this big old world- we felt so small and in awe of nature!
What does marriage mean to you?
To us marriage is a commitment of faith and love. It’s about being a part of something that’s bigger than just yourself, learning to listen, sacrifice, support and care even when the going gets rough. Though I guess we’ll always have ups and downs (who doesn’t right?!) at the end of the day we’re always here for each other.
Advice for other couples getting married?
Don’t take any advice!!! (Ha!). Follow your heart and do what’s right for you both… I don’t think anyone ever regretted doing that.
