With over 60 talented vendors, the best sponsors and an amazing lineup of designers and industry leaders, we knew Auckland was going to go off with a bang! We had the most incredible day at Auckland’s Shed 10 last Saturday, with the talent and creativity of everyone involved totally eclipsing our expectations. For those who couldn’t make it, we wanted to share a re-cap on all of the magic that happened in Auckland.
Collaborating with top industry professionals, we made sure Shed 10 was styled like never before. Stunning floral installations by the talented Sue from Floral Stylist Co were at every turn. We’re obsessed with the runway display she created, featuring gold and dried foliage and peeking sections of prickly pear cactus, and our ‘Wild’ neon sign by Neon Signs NZ sat perfectly within it. Each and every vendor styled their space so beautifully, we were blown away by the creativity of everybody involved on the day and would like to thank our vendors whole-heartedly for putting in so much effort that was easy to see in the beauty they created! Also, a big thankyou to the talented photographers who captured the below images for us: Marion Heurteboust, Hill Collective, Light & Type and Jesse & Jessie Weddings, and the amazing video by the team at Wild Souls.
A HUGE thank you must also go to all of our Wild Hearts Auckland sponsors, vendors, designers, behind the scenes teams and our amazing guests – the day was all we had dreamed and more! See and read more below about this incredible day….
Our VIP Haven hosted by our lovely friends at Together Journal provided our lucky VIPs a luxury hideaway to relax in, chat and sip on glasses of Veuve Cliquot served by the team at Blume & Darling. The clever folk at Masters of Ceremonies had their Frosé machine at the ready, and guests could also try out the latest non-alcoholic spirit in mixing sessions with the team from Seedlip. Delicious canapés by Freerange Chef were on offer all day to keep our VIPS going for a full day of inspiration.
Styled beautifully by Amanda Norwood, the space featured lighting by La Lumiere and gold mirrored tables from Darby & Grey, on which sat florals by Where Rosemary Grows and the hot off the press latest issue of Together Journal. Lucky VIP guests were the first to set eyes on the brand new (and gorgeous!) cover re-design of Issue 12, with editor Greta and her team on hand to chat all things style and weddings. The fab team from Miss Crabb were there to meet VIP guests too, and the amazing Rachel Hamilton played acoustic guitar and sang so beautifully. The Auckland goodie bags were seriously amazing- absolutely packed with treats from our fantastic vendors and sponsors, with a value of over $370! Highlights included luxe cake mixes from The Caker, the latest issue of Together Journal, luxury beauty products from L’Oreal, Linden Leaves, Essano, Bondi Sands, The Sugar Cube Co and countless more…..
As well as hundreds of excited brides-to be and their friends, we spotted some special guests including Kayla Cullen and her girls, babes Pascale and Nami from Serendipity Ave and the gals from Fashion TV to name a few!
We had mini workshops happening throughout the day, with the tremendously talented Benny from WORLD hosting ‘Find Your Fragrance’ chats and educating guests on the world of perfume. The gals from Kensal Flowers came fresh from London and hosted flower crown workshops, teaching guests the intricacies of floral crown design. The team at the L’Oreal Paris Pamper Lounge was also on hand to beautify guests with makeup touch-up and tips all day.
It was a day jam-packed with exciting details, beginning with jeweller Layla Kaisi giving away diamonds! The first 150 guests through the door were given a ‘diamond’, but the catch- only three were real. A queue quickly formed at her space with excited guests taking their diamonds to be live-tested by Layla herself, with three lucky guests taking away a real diamond each on the day!
Another queue formed nearby, with everybody wanting to get a taste of the amazing jellies by The Jellyologist. Like little works of art, Jessica created beautiful cocktail-inspired jellies which proved to be super popular with Wild Hearts guests. The talented Jordan from The Caker was with us serving her ever-gorgeous mini cakes, and Crepes Creations was on hand to cater to peckish guests. If sweet treats weren’t your thing, the team at Jess’ Underground Kitchen had a Pop-Up Eatery serving a bespoke lunch menu!
On the main stage we had our fave industry leaders take to the stage to do Industry Chats and discuss their experiences and expertise. We had the amazing Joel from ‘Barefoot & Bearded’ who flew in from Melbourne to give a talk on his topic of “Fuck Traditions,” inspiring listeners to create a wedding day that’s personal to them and to not be afraid of disregarding traditions. The lovely Greta from Together Journal, Kristine from Miss Crabb, Benny from WORLD and Beks from Chaos & Harmony Shoes chatted about ‘Celebrating Love in Style’– sharing gems of wisdom from their extensive experience in the style and wedding industries.
The Wild Hearts Bar served thirsty guests Veuve Clicquot, Mount Michael Wines and Antipodes sparkling water all day, and was hard to miss with it’s beautiful balloon installation by the babes at OMGness Styling and florals by Rose Tinted Flowers.
At 5pm, it was time for the highly anticipated Wild Hearts Runway Show- with Highkings DJ mixing live! The lineup of designers was a veritable who’s who of bridal style, with guests viewing the beauty from those amazing white wire chairs provided by our friends at Arkade. We’ll be sharing a full re-cap blog on the runway show on Friday 22nd June, so stay tuned!
