We loved staying at Sherwood Queenstown with our team (and some fabulous vendors!) during our time in the city of wild winter beauty for Wild Hearts Queenstown.
Set on an alpine hillside with views over Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables, Sherwood offers a place filled with atmosphere to unwind, reconnect and find inspiration.
Recently renovated to feature hand woven hangings, modern wall art, industrial bulbs, cork walls and aztec print cushions, the rooms range from lakeside studio to queen-sized bunkroom. Snuggle up with a thick woollen blanket from South Island sheep flocks and wash in essential manuka honey & myrtle shower gel and lotions.
The breakfast buffet was what breakfast dreams are made of, a view over the Queenstown water and mountains, ceramic plates, chocolate croissants, and not to mention our favourite Storm & India coconut chai tea.
Much of the fresh produce is foraged from the Sherwood kitchen garden and orchard, and they collaborate with local farms and independent growers to bring the finest sustainable produce Otago has to offer. This same philosophy extends to the bar and wine options where they work with boutique and family owned wine producers that specialise in natural wine that describes a sense of place and time.
We spent Sunday evening drinking mulled wine while surrounded by mellow music, good food – pumpkin risotto, market fish and braised pork were just a few of the dishes we indulged in – a facade of greenery, hanging lightbulbs, cosy seating and friends that became family. It was the perfect evening of talk and laughter. We highly recommend the chocolate mousse, toasted marshmallow and chocolate sponge cake for dessert (or for brunch like we did).
A big thank you to the wonderful staff at Sherwood for hosting our team. We are looking forward to seeing you all again in 2018!

After a relaxing Sunday spent exploring the Queenstown Region, we set up office at the Sherwood restaurant for the Monday morning work grind before travelling back home and unwillingly leaving such a beautiful place. Their coffee, free wifi and sheep skin covered bench seating make this the perfect destination office space.
Thank you to the wonderful staff here for being so lovely and making us feel right at home at the Sherwood. We had the best time and can’t wait to come back.
