Notions of romance in dreamy autumnal tones for Tara + David’s Dunedin Wedding. After a serendipitous meeting at university, Tara and David were destined to be together, and as the clouds rolled in and raindrops fell over the Dunedin family home, nestled beneath an umbrella to exchange their vows and celebrate with their nearest and dearest.
Effortlessly refined, Tara wore a beautiful, embroidered Magnolia Gown, from Brooke Tyson Ritual. An off white gown with a high neckline that flows down to a low v at the back. With a soft rosy blush, Tara waited at the top of the steps for Dave to meet her for an intimate first look. David looked suave in his perfectly tailored suit from Working Style. His blue check jacket continued the theme of a not so traditional wedding.
Taking an intimate moment for themselves and strolling through the picturesque gardens, a playful time together amongst the celebrations ahead.
Sheltered underneath the marquee the reception began. Festoon lights and wooden tables warmed the surroundings and made everything cosy. Drinks flowed and cheese cake was cut, leading to a blissful night of dancing with family and friends.
Elegantly captured by Ana Galloway.
How did you meet and how long have you been together?
We met at university (whilst waiting for an exam to start!). We’ve been together 11 years this month.
How would you describe each other?
Dave is playful, strong and caring. He is very stubborn – but this pays off during tough times, where he always remains positive.
Tara is thoughtful, kind and intelligent.
Tell us a little bit about the proposal and your engagement?
We had planned to tramp up to French Ridge Hut in Mt Aspiring National Park during the 2018 Christmas holidays. Unfortunately, the entire region was set to receive rain and strong winds, so we decided to head over the Lindis pass to explore some tracks near Omarama. We thought we were on the right track but it turns out Dave had led us astray – nowhere near a hut. We ended up camping on a mountainside in the Ewe ranges, looking over the Waitaki Valley toward Lake Ohau. Once our tent was all set up we went for a wander. Dave had sped ahead, I clambered over a few rocks to see him turn around holding a white box – it was easily the most surprised I have ever been in my life!
