We’re the Queenstown-Lakes bridal experts and one-stop-shop for all things wedding. The Queenstown and Central Lakes area is a world-class wedding destination, and Nemo Bridal & Couture is the region’s #1 wedding attire specialists, ensuring quality and sustainability is at the heart of every task.
From bespoke custom gowns, to detailed dress alterations, bridal hire and more, our team of highly skilled seamstresses, pattern makers & stylists are here to ensure every detail is lovingly attended to.
We also love to meet and assist travelling brides to make them look polished and perfect on their wedding day, steaming outfits and on the day dressing help is popular with eloping brides.
Tell us a little bit about your latest collection that we saw on the Wild Hearts Runway?
This small collection is fun, whimsical and cheeky. Every new Nemo Bridal & Couture collection evokes a flavour that resonates with us and displays our love of reinvigorating vintage elements.
Are there unique design features in your collection? What inspired you?
This collection features frill, bow, hand dyed cloth and vintage trims.
Inspiration comes to us from many sources, and this one came about from music, cloth and collections. Femininity mixed with attitude is what this collection is all about.
What is the process for couples looking to purchase or perhaps have a custom piece made by you?

Can you tell us about your rentals?
Nemo was founded on the ethos of circulation, therefore hiring bridal gowns & accessories is a fabulous way for us to keep textiles moving & appreciated while also reducing the eco-footprint of the worldwide bridal industry.
Our range of hire garments extend from bridal gowns, bridal skirts and tops, vintage fur jackets and veils, to men’s suiting and mountain warm kits for the ever popular snowy mountain wedding shoot.
The hiring of bridal attire is becoming increasingly popular and our collection continues to morph and expand to meet the desire. Our large collection of Vintage furs also continues to grow, now with over 40 styles to choose from.
What are your views on sustainability and do your brides prefer renting because of this?
The Nemo brand was born from the principles of sustainability, circulation and appreciation of textiles. To us, sustainability means keeping our precious planet spinning at its healthiest by keeping waste to a minimum by encouraging a localised circular economy through:
• the bespoke creation of well-crafted garments that last,
• mending existing pieces to extend their lifetime,
• utilising discarded fabrics to create new items, and
• providing an option to hire that which you may only wear once, instead of buying.
A number of our clients come to us because we are sustainability conscious, and these tend to be the brides who choose the hiring option for at least one piece of their bridal attire.

Do you have favourite styles for petite, curve and maternity weddings?
For us styling is much more than body shape.
Personality, attitude, venue all speak to helping a bride select her dress.
Important considerations are elongation, accentuating best bits, enabling the bride to feel her absolute best, and to create the magical alchemy of best frock – incredible glow.
