As we end another busy week of dreaming and planning for Wild Hearts 2018, we thought what better to way to kickstart the weekend than sharing another beautiful cocktail feature. Tom from O.G.B kindly shares with us a classic Italian cocktail- the Negroni.
Negroni in a short glass is a new age classic, bartenders all over Christchurch and New Zealand tend to steer towards this bitter Italian Aperitif on more than one night a week.
Luckily at O.G.B our food options are oriented to soft reworks of high end Italian cooking, and there isn’t a better cocktail match in my mind then a classic Negroni.
| NEGRONI |
For our recipe at O.G.B we use:
Campari (Bitter Digestif)
Beefeater 24 Gin
Cocchi Di Torino Rosso Vermouth
Cynar Artichoke Liquer
Method:
In a cocktail stirring jar, add:
30ml Campari
30ml Cocchi Rosso Vermouth
30ml Beefeater 24
10ml Cynar
Top the jar up with ice and stir for roughly 25 seconds.
We then strain that over a short glass with a single ice rock to control the dilution of the Negroni as long as possible.
Flame zest a twist of orange over the top to garnish and you’re away laughing!
Try this great recipe yourself this weekend or if you’re in Christchurch head to O.G.B at 30/28 Cathedral Square, Christchurch Central. (And if you do, make sure to let them know your Wild Hearts gals sent you!) xx
