A relaxed, bohemian setting under the stars surrounded by their nearest and dearest. Jessica (owner of Boheme Events) wed her best friend Jake inside a dreamy glasshouse overlooking the vineyards at Te Whai Bay Wines in Mangawhai. Doing most of the wedding herself, Jessica wanted to create a day completely personal to their fun, carefree style. Including the gorgeous location in Mangawhai– which was a favourite destination to escape to over the past Summers together. Looking stunning in her Truvelle gown and Zoe & Morgan earrings, Jessica complimented her bride-tribe perfectly who wore tones of dusky summer pastels matching the dreamy blooms from Kensal.
“For us getting married meant taking on the adventure of life together.
On our special day we celebrated our love with the people in our lives that we love and cherish.“ – Jessica

THE LOVE STORY
Jake and I first met around 5 years ago. We became friends until we then started dating a few years later and from that point, our romance turned into love. Then Jake proposed to me on Dream Beach located on Nusa Lembongan Island in Bali. We were about to go or a swim in the ocean and then he got down on one knee. It was the most beautiful and happy moment which I will look back on for years to come.
THE WEDDING
We envisioned our wedding day to have a relaxed/bohemian vibe, so our guests could enjoy some drinks and live music in the sunshine and party into the night. Our wedding was a DIY wedding which meant we could make the style of our wedding personal to us. I drew inspiration for the styling of our wedding from various blogs and of course Pinterest.
We chose to get married in Mangawhai as it is one of our favourite places to escape to in the Summertime. We liked the idea of getting married in a beautiful setting surrounded by nature so when we found Te Whai Bay Wines we knew it was the perfect spot for our Wedding.
THE DETAILS
We had our very talented friends play and sing us down the aisle to one of our favourite songs – The Girl by City & Colour. It was very special moment that we will always remember.
We were also blown away with our wedding photographer Zanda Photography she captured our day perfectly in a beautiful and natural way which was exactly what we wanted.
WHAT MARRIAGE MEANS TO US
For us getting married meant taking on the adventure of life together. On our special day we celebrated our love with the people in our lives that we love and cherish.
FAVOURITE MOMENT OF THE DAY
Jake and I stepped out of the reception after dinner to have some sunset photos taken in the vines with our Photographer. It was nice to take a moment by ourselves to reflect on how amazing the day had been.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES PLANNING THEIR DAY
Get the bulk of your wedding planning done as soon as you can so you can relax and be able to focus on the styling and the finer details of your day. Don’t take on too much leading up to your wedding and remember to delegate to your nearest and dearest to take the pressure off you and your partner. Enjoy and soak up the happy moments, it really is the best day!
