We were delighted to have Crane on the Wild Hearts Runway earlier this year, and honoured to have Murray Crane as a guest speaker for the Industry Panel hosted by Together Journal’s Greta Kenyon, at our 2022 Wild Hearts Wedding Fair. Celebrating the modern gentleman, we are thrilled to share inspiration from Crane Brothers for all of your groom + groomsmen planning.

Firstly, tell us about your brand and what you love about working in menswear within the wedding industry?

Crane Brothers was established in 1999. We would describe ourselves as Contemporary Tailors and Occasion Specialists. We have been dressing grooms, groomsmen and wedding guests since we began, and whether it’s the formality of a tuxedo and black tie or the relaxed elegance of a beach ceremony, we love the sense of occasion a wedding creates.

Are there unique design features in your collection that are signature to Crane Brothers? What inspired you?

I would like to think that we create unique collections that carry our signature. I would say that we are defined by what we leave out, we try to create garments that aren’t over embellished or trend driven. We are inspired by our clients’ needs, that’s the beauty of made-to-measure.

What are your favourite fabrics from this year and why?

With summer approaching it would definitely be our linen blends or silk and cashmere. These are lightweight and luxurious fibres perfect for our humid months woven exclusively for us in Italy. This summer’s palette includes soft greys, browns, oatmeal, and cream.

What is the process for couples looking to purchase or perhaps have a custom piece made by you?

We prefer to work by appointment. The initial consultation takes around an hour, this comprises all the key decisions being made in regards to style and cloth, we also complete the measuring at this time. We always advocate made-to-measure if the client has time as it results in a superior fit. Once the garment is ready we will see you again for one or more further fittings for any additional refinements required before finishing the garment.

Do you have any teasers on what is next for Crane Brothers?

We’re excited for our Spring Summer 23 collection which we’ve just photographed in London. It has always been a dream of mine to shoot within this city as it holds such rich culture.
