Elegant vineyard vows, as family gathered for Elodie + Asafo’s Martinborough Wedding at the stunning Olivio~nor.
A dreamy Italian styled villa steeped in Tuscan beauty and surrounded by manicured gardens and rambling grapevines.
Clouds of white blooms, greenery garlands and a classic palette of muted tones adorned the tables, as guests celebrated under the dreamy Twelve Tables clear marquee.
Forever moments romantically captured by photographer Sam Cameron of August & Vine.
“Marriage to us is committing to love and support each other for the rest of our lives and feeling a sense of security because of that commitment. It is always having that safe space and a lifelong best friend.”
How did you meet and how long have you been together?
We met through mutual friends during college and have been together for five years
How would you describe each other?
Elodie: Asafo is very level-headed, loyal and kind. He is often the calm that balances out my crazy when life gets hectic! He’s my safe space.
Asafo: Elodie is the rock of our family. She always knows what to do and say. She is the entertainer of the family, always making me and our kids laugh and she has the biggest heart.
Tell us a little bit about the proposal and your engagement?
We got engaged six months after dating. We had talked about wanting to spend the rest of our lives together and just did it! Asafo proposed at home in the kitchen while we were cleaning up after dinner
Tell us about your wedding style. What influenced your planning for the day?
We didn’t really have a theme as such but got some inspo off pinterest and instagram.
Why did you choose your destination?
It was beautiful and unique – we didn’t know anyone that had used the venue before. We were actually looking for a beautiful air bnb with land to put a marquee on and this was perfect. It was close to home which was important to us so that the babies and elderly in our family didn’t have to travel far.
What was your favourite detail from the day?
Our wedding favours. We had packets of seeds in the shape of hearts for our guests that said ‘let love grow’
What was your favourite moment from the day?
The siva and haka (cultural items) our friends and family did with us and Elodies bridesmaid singing ‘at last’ by Etta James
What does marriage mean to you?
Marriage to us is committing to love and support each other for the rest of our lives and feeling a sense of security because of that commitment. It is always having that safe space and a lifelong best friend.
Who were your stand out vendors?
Our photographer, DJ, cake baker and caterer
Advice for other couples planning a wedding?
Unless you genuinely enjoy planning, hire an experienced wedding planner!
Do you have a favourite quote or piece of your vows you would like to share?
‘I vow to be my best for myself, for us, for our kids, and for our future together.’
